Shangri-La Highlands

Shangri-La Highlands is an area of forests, alpine meadows and ridges to the east of Shangri-La City. It is bordered on the east by Pudacuo National Park. Access is by forest roads and paths, some of which continue across onto higher terrain grazed by yaks. The highest summits reach about 4,400 meters. The steep-sided pyramid of Cheese Mountain forms the most distinctive peak in the region.
